Canon has filed a new compact zoom lenses patents for RF 20mm f/1.8 IS, RF 24mm f/1.8 IS and RF 28mm f/1.8 IS Lenses lenses for Canon full frame mirrorless cameras. It seems to be a patent on an optical system that considers backlight resistance.
