Canon EOS R3/R5S High Megapixel Mirrorless Camera in Testing
Canon is allegedly working on a high megapixel full frame mirrorless camera (Canon EOS R3 or Canon EOS R5S), which is expected to be released in early 2021. We already reported that a new 150MP high-megapixel Canon EOS R body is on the way, but NOT in the near future in a consumer product.
Today according to the report from CR, a new high-megapixel Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless camera is in the early stages of testing with a very select group of photographers.
The megapixel count is “significantly lower than 150mp” the source claims, but that it “just about doubles” the 45mp sensor in the upcoming Canon EOS R5.
This high-megapixel Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless camera will be squarely aimed at still photographers, while the Canon EOS R5 will be an ideal camera for movie makers and videographers.
The official announcement will be in late 2020 with the release date for early 2021.
