Viltrox Rumored to Release 6 RF Mount Lenses in Late 2022

In addition to the already released Viltrox AF 85mm f/1.8 RF II Lens for Canon RF, Viltrox is rumored to release 6 RF-mount lenses by the end of 2022:

  • 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm full-frame RF -mount mirrorless lenses
  • 23mm, 35mm, and 56mm APS-C RF -mount mirrorless lenses

These new lenses are expected to be available by the end of 2022.

To be honest, the full-frame VILTROX lenses seem to be in a tough battle with affordable genuine Canon lenses, given its reputation and pricing.

In addition, Canon is expected to introduce the APS-C EOS R system (Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R10) on May 24, 2022, and it is appreciated that VILTROX’s APS-C single focus lens group will appear while the lens lineup is not complete. Although it does not have outstanding optical performance compared to domestic lenses, I feel that it has a good balance between resolution performance, bokeh, and pricing.
