How Many Megapixels Will Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Have, 24MP or 20MP?

The most important things we currently want to know about Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is probably how many megapixels will Canon EOS-1D X Mark III have…

We already know that the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera will have an updated CMOS sensor and DIGIC processors, 16 fps Shooting with Viewfinder, 20 fps Shooting During Live View, 4K 10-Bit 4:2:2 Internal Video Recording, Dual Pixel CMOS AF and more. But how many megapixels will Canon EOS-1D X Mark III have, 24MP or 20MP?

One source is “80% sure” the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will come equipped with a 24.x megapixel sensor. And one of the select photographers who had the chance to test the EOS-1D X Mark III said no memory cards were allowed into test cameras, but they will be able to make images with the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III camera in the coming weeks. So we will know for sure the resolution before the end of November.

The other source claimed to be “100% sure” that the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III would actually sport a 20.1-megapixel sensor, the same resolution as the EOS-1D X Mark II

Anyway, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will be officially announced at the end of January 2020. But at the time of writing, we are NOT sure how many megapixels will Canon EOS-1D X Mark III have… If you have some information about the sensor of EOS-1D X Mark III, please let us know in the comment.
