Canon EOS R3 Will Eliminate “Lag” and “Blackout” Issues

The Canon EOS R3 will NOT have EVF blackout or lag issues that are present in the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6.

The Canon EOS R5 and the Canon EOS R6 EVF will experience the blackout and/or lag issues when shooting still images. For lots of shooters, blackouts and time lags aren’t that big deal, but I’ve seen various criticisms about the lag present in the Canon EOS R5 being a bit annoying in certain shooting situations.

We already reported that the Canon EOS R3 will use a newly developed 24mp backside illuminated image sensor, and it will have a much faster readout than that of the EOS R5 or EOS R6. So, it is expected that the EVF would be blackout-free.

The Canon EOS R3 full frame mirrorless camera will be officially announced in September 2021, and it is already listed at B&H, Adorama.
