Canon EOS M Lineup May End in 2021

According to the latest rumors, 2021 will be the last year of Canon EOS M series renewal. The Canon EOS M50 Mark II mirrorless camera, which was released in October 2020, is only a stopgap measure to transition to RF mount APS-C format cameras. In addition, Canon is currently preparing to launch two APS-C mirrorless cameras with RF mount.

In terms of lenses, Canon may not launch a special APS-C format lens for RF mount APS-C format cameras. According to previous news, Canon is expected to release the RF 18-45mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens in 2021. This lens may be a very suitable kit lens for RF mount APS-C format cameras. At the same time, the RF 18-45mm lens image field can also cover the full-frame image sensor. For RF-mount APS-C format cameras, Canon may also launch a cheap ultra-wide-angle lens covering 10mm to compensate for the cropping of the APS-C format angle of view.

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II with 15-45mm lens kit is now in stock at AmazonB&HAdorama for $699.
