Canon to Announce 7 New RF Lenses in 2019
Canon is rumored to announce seven new RF mirrorless lenses for Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless camera in 2019:
- RF 16-35mm f/2.8L (or similar)
- RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS (or similar)
- RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS (or similar)
- RF 105mm f/1.4L
- RF 85mm f/1.8 IS STM
- RF Macro lens
- RF non-L kit lens
In addition to these new RF lenses, Canon is also developing two new fast f/1.2 L prime lenses: RF 24mm f/1.2L USM lens and RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens. All these three new RF lenses are expected to be released in late 2019 or early 2020.
And a non-L RF kit lens for the Canon EOS R will probably announced along with an entry-level EOS R body, which is expected to arrive in the first half of 2019.
So that means Canon is planning to release at least 15 new RF mirrorless lenses in the next 30-36 months.
