Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens Replacement Rumored for Photokina 2018

The latest rumor said Canon is currently developing a new EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens to replace the popular EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM standard zoom lens ($300 off), which is an ideal lens for landscape photography, street photography and portrait photography.

The final version of this new EF 24-70mm f/2.8L is NOT confirmed yet, but it is expected to be the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM lens (image stabilization version) or the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L III USM lens.

The previous reports said Canon is planning to unveil two new “professional” lenses for Photokina 2018. It is highly likely that one of them will be the replacement of the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM.

Canon already released their new EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lens ($300 off) and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens ($2,099). So, as a Canon photographer, I’ll be glad to see the new 24-70mm f/2.8L update at Photokina 2018.
